MOTLEY CRUE guitarist MICK MARS has asked a judge to suspend payments to an ex-girlfriend he has accused of breaking a palimony agreement.
Mars - real name Robert Alan Deal - filed suit against former lover Robbie Mantooth in 2006, alleging she breached the terms of a palimony agreement between the former couple who were together for 14 years between 1990 and 2004.
Mantooth originally sued Deal claiming she quit her job as a documentary filmmaker to live with him in Malibu, California, because he had offered to take care of her for life. The former couple eventually reached a palimony agreement which gave her a down payment and agreed to pay an additional $5,000 (GBP2,500) a month on a balance of $300,000 (GBP150,000), according to court papers. Mantooth was required to promise never to disclose any financial information about him in return.
But now Deal has hit his ex-girlfriend with a lawsuit claiming she has not honoured the terms of the agreement and had filed papers at Los Angeles Superior Court claiming punitive damages and attorney's fees.
The trial date is provisionally set for 15 September (08) and Deal has now asked a judge to suspend payments to Mantooth until after the trial is completed.
Deal will find out whether his request will be granted in a hearing set for June 6th.
